Frequently Asked Questions
The questions we get asked most about trash service in Cochise County — answered straight, with no number invented to fill a gap.
Services and coverage
- What services does Waste Disposal Arizona offer?
- Three. Weekly residential curbside pickup with a 96-gallon rolling cart included; commercial frontload dumpsters from 2 to 8 yards on a schedule set to your volume; and roll-off dumpsters in 15, 30, and 40 yard sizes for construction, renovation, and cleanout projects.
- What areas do you serve?
- Residential and commercial collection covers Sierra Vista, Benson, St David, Tombstone, Hereford, Palominas, Naco, and Bisbee. Roll-off dumpsters reach further: across Cochise County, into Santa Cruz County, and into parts of Pima County.
- Do you pick up at homes outside city limits?
- Often, yes. Much of Cochise County is unincorporated with no municipal collection at all, and rural addresses are a large part of our work. Call (520) 895-3441 with the address and we will tell you whether a route already runs past you.
- Are you a local company?
- Yes. Waste Disposal Arizona is family owned and operated out of 2060 N Highway 90 in Huachuca City, and has served Cochise County since 2012. The person who answers the phone works in the same valley you live in.
Starting service
- How do I start trash service?
- Order online through the customer portal or call (520) 895-3441. We confirm your address is on one of our routes, agree on a start date, and deliver your cart before the first pickup.
- Is the trash cart included, or do I buy it?
- It is included with residential service: one 96-gallon rolling cart with a lid. We deliver it before your first pickup and collect it if you ever cancel.
- What day will my trash be picked up?
- Your collection day depends on which route covers your street, so it is assigned when the account is set up. Call (520) 895-3441 with your address and we will tell you the day before you commit to anything.
- How much does service cost?
- It depends on the service, the container size, how often we come, and where you are — a roll-off in Nogales and a weekly cart in Sierra Vista are not comparable. We quote per address rather than publish a rate that would be wrong for most people. Call (520) 895-3441 and we will give you a real number.
Containers and what goes in them
- What container sizes are available?
- Residential households get a 96-gallon cart. Businesses use frontload dumpsters from 2 to 8 yards. Projects use roll-off containers in 15, 30, and 40 yard sizes.
- What size roll-off dumpster do I need?
- As a rough guide: 15 yards for a single-room remodel, a roof, or a garage; 30 yards for a whole-house cleanout or a mid-sized build; 40 yards for large jobs and bulky but light material. Heavy debris such as concrete or dirt hits weight limits early, so it usually belongs in a smaller container.
- What can I not put in my cart or dumpster?
- The standard exclusions apply: hazardous waste, paint and solvents, chemicals, motor oil, batteries, tires, propane tanks, medical waste, and appliances containing refrigerant. Heavy material like concrete, dirt, or roofing needs to be declared in advance on a roll-off. If you are unsure about an item, call (520) 895-3441 and confirm before it goes in.
- Do you take yard waste, brush, or bulk items?
- The weekly cart is for household trash. Brush, furniture, and cleanout debris are a roll-off job rather than a cart job. Call and describe what you have and we will point you at the right container.
Billing and schedule
- How do I manage or pay my account?
- Through the customer portal — the Manage My Account link at the top of every page on this site. If you would rather deal with a person, call (520) 895-3441 during office hours.
- Does my pickup day change on holidays?
- Sometimes. Some holidays shift routes by a day and others do not affect the schedule at all. During any holiday week we post a banner at the top of this site saying exactly what is happening with that week’s collection.
- What do I do if my trash was not picked up?
- Call (520) 895-3441 with the address and the day. Because we are local and small, that is a short conversation with someone who can actually look at the route, not a ticket in a queue.
